Following a Liberal minority victory in the 2004 election, the government of Prime Minister Paul Martin was once again on the line when the House of Commons passed a motion of no confidence in late November 2005. Over the following six weeks, Liberal Leader Paul Martin, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper, NDP Leader Jack Layton, and Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe hit the campaign trail to persuade Canadians that they had the policies and the vision to lead the country into the future.
