December 13, 2024—Ottawa— CPAC, the Cable Public Affairs Channel is pleased to present a 90-minute town hall focussed on cyberbullying, online abuse and their impact on our communities and our democracy.
Hosted by CPAC’s Michael Serapio, this program features in-depth conversations with experts, public figures, and politicians about the growing threats in the digital world. From personal accounts of online abuse to discussions about the role of big tech and governments, this town hall delves into the issue and the possible solutions.
“With the rise of social media fuelling misinformation, disinformation, and polarization in the political arena, there has never been a more important time for discussions about making digital spaces safer for all,” said Christa Dickenson, President and CEO of CPAC.
Funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Digital Citizen Contribution Program, this broadcast includes stories from the front lines of those advocating for stronger protections, media literacy campaigns and more education about digital safety to counter the rise of cyberbullying and online harms.
The townhall premieres on December 14th at 7 PM ET and replays December 15th at 9 PM ET.
